Seo Yun, Choi is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California. Additionally, she is an international student at from South Korea. She holds a B.A. degree in Sociology. Upon completion of her Bachelor’s degree, she was motivated to address social issues in a more practical manner, which led her to pursue a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. Her primary research interests are in the aging and later life of immigrants within a society. Specifically, She is interested in the following areas: (a) how ethnic immigrants form relationships with their local community; (b) how the relationships affect their cognitive and social health; (c) community improvements to promote healthy connections. Furthermore, she is interested in understanding the social dynamics and mental health within immigrant senior housing and examining and improving the health effects of interactions with the outside community for senior housing residents. She has written multiple research papers and business reports for a national research proposal. She uses SPSS and STATA for quantitative methods. As an immigrant herself, she hopes to conduct research more effectively from their perspective.
